Buildings are at the same time recruitement centers and shelters.
They can be constructed by Builders only.
In current version of Multiverse War, all buildings are of military nature in one way or the other.
All buildings repair after 1 FULL TURN (if it was damaged during your action phase, it will repair for at start of your action phase next turn).
Buildings have a zone of control, which must be considered when exploring the world and planning expansion.
Only Guard Towers have a single use, while all other buildings are of dual use - they can only attack and defend as basic functionality.

Building construction rules
- Zone of control:
All buildings have zone of control. It determines how close a building can be built next to any other building on the map.
- Proximity - they cannot be contructed next to:
- unexplored tiles
- unexplored adventure tiles
Example on the right - proximity rules:
- Siege Workshop cannot be constructed because of:
- the unexplored hexes above
- the unexplored adventure bellow
- It can be constructed in position 3 because it is not adjacent to unexplored hexes or adventures and it follows the zone of control rule
- Guard Towers can be constructed at position 4 because the only rule we need to consider for Guard Towers is the zones rule.
Guard Towers are an exception both to how close to other buildings they can be constructed and the above proximity rules do not apply.

Example on the right - zone rule :
Both buildings can be constructed.
Guard Towers have zone of control of 2.
Siege Workshop has zone of control of 3.
Since Siege workshop has a wider zone of control, it means it is outside of Guard Towers zone of control, so the rule bellow did not activate.
Zone of Control
All buildings have zone of control. Those zones determine how close to another building on the map a building can be constructed.
Golden Rule:
A building CANNOT be constructed if it will result in a situation where BOTH BUILDINGS are in each other zones of control.
Example on the right :
Red player cannot construct his Siege Workshop above because both the Red Fortress and Blue Workshop would be in each other zones.
That is why he is obliged to move one hex down.
He can construct the Guard Towers because Guard Towers have a 1-hex zone of influence, so the red player Barracks stay outside of it.
Your Starting Settlement
The game starts after your beloved Emperor sent you through the Stone Portal into the new realm.
You will be the founder of the starting settlement at the beggining of the game, and it represents your foothold in this realm.
Settlement Defense :
Settlement occupies the five hexes you see on the image.
Settlement has five health, just like a Fortress or a Castra in this example, as it is a Roman settlement.
That means you can have up to five units garissoned inside and, each one defends its hex only.
